I'm heading to bed from the Olympic Village. It's the night before our team event, and quite honestly I'm nervous! The team competition requires a completely different type of preparation than the individual competition. One must be ready to fight for his compatriots, to pick up for them, and to lead them. We are fencing the highly favored Russian team in our first match. Their team is composed of Yakimenko, Kovalev, and Reshetnikov. We just had a group chat where we decided all we can do is fight our hardest, and be the best athlete we can be. I believe in our team, and know our guys will bring it!
